As I say all the time, nature photography is like fishing: you need the right equipment, lots of patience and a little bit of luck. Luck was definitely with me when I got this shot; the young male hummingbird sat in place long enough for me to line up the frame and then tilted his head back just enough to show off his developing red gorget.
The image is printed onto a 1/16 aluminum sheet that brings out the dramatic colors and adds incredible durability. A float mount is included on the back.
