As I say all the time, nature photography is like fishing: you need the right equipment, lots of patience and a little bit of luck. Luck was definitely with me when I got this shot; after zipping around the garden for at least 15 minutes, this hummingbird finally sat in place long enough - and close enough! - for me to line up the frame.
